A Superior Gaiter for Superior Hunts

Those who spend time crossing creeks and trudging through brush and snow know the struggle. Without a solid gaiter, both water and debris can ruin a trip in a short time as they get into a boot. Each hunt is a story, and solid gear allows it to continue successfully.

You’ve got all the gear planned out each day of the hunt. You’re prepared for creek crossings, side hilling, rocks, brush, and all the miles ahead through varying terrain. While you might be prepared to face the hard miles and all the wear and tear, there’s a shot your gaiter isn’t.

The underfoot strap is usually the first thing to go. They’re annoying, come loose, and seem to catch on everything. Without a spare replacement strap, your gaiter might become rendered useless.

Regular gaiters on the market come equipped with this same built-in failure point that seems to always go out. On top of the strap problems, other things fail, too. Stuff comes loose, stitching pulls and unravels, and elastic loosens.

Even with the best made materials, it’s only a matter of time, time that you can’t afford to waste while you’re chasing animals on a mountain.

In the backcountry, you have two choices: accept the frustration of snapped straps and mid-trail snags, or change the game entirely. We designed CRISPI gaiters to eliminate those old failure points, moving past 'traditional' designs so you can focus on the hunt, not your gear.

Leaning into our innovation roots here at CRISPI®, we did not try to reinforce the gaiter strap. We took a different approach and removed it completely.

The patent-pending gaiter attachment system utilizes a nylon loop on the heel of the boot and a velcro system in the gaiter. This allows the user to remove the velcro gaiter strap that runs under the foot. Gaiter-compatible boots have heel attachment points using integrated nylon loops made for easy attachment and durability.

Without the underfoot strap, you avoid ground contact and constant abrasive friction, so our gaiter lasts. The system is designed to look traditional with a modern twist, and is offered in two different models:

CRISPI® Alto Gaiter – a tall gaiter with a breathable, waterproof membrane. Designed for snow and steady exposure to wet conditions.
CRISPI® Corto Gaiter – a shorter gaiter for warmer conditions. It blocks debris well. It offers simple water resistance.
Both the Alto and Corto gaiters are uniquely innovative, but not overly engineered. We tested and refined the design. We finished it using the highest quality materials we could find.

Why It Matters in the Field

While not yet a universal setup, the CRISPI® gaiter system is designed to be a seamless extension of your boots. As we continue to integrate this gaiter design throughout our models, keep an eye on the boot product descriptions to ensure which ones are currently compatible and have those signature nylon heel loops. If you have a boot that isn’t currently compatible, don’t sweat it. You can run CRISPI® gaiters with the underfoot strap, too. Each pair of gaiters in both the Corto and the Alto comes with straps, just in case you need them.
